Walls don’t win fights; they choose them. A good wall line turns a dozen possible attack angles into two, buys your army time to arrive, and makes raiding your workers a project instead of an errand. From the Industrial Age onward, artillery makes walls a delaying tool rather than an answer — which is still a lot.
